2020 Wildlife League Season Cancelled

By smoore, 05/21/20, 9:00AM PDT

In light of the current circumstances with COVID-19 restrictions, we asked all our team reps to let us know if/when restrictions were lifted whether they would want to play out the remainder of the season or not.  Based on the responses we received, the majority of the teams have said they did not want to play this year either because it wasn't worth the risk or they couldn't field a team .  Considering this, unfortunately we are going to cancel the 2020 Wildlife League season

We apologize to the handful of teams that responded that they did want to play this year but with the logistics of trying to abide by social distancing guidelines, the uncertainty of when the fields were going to open and the headache of the unknown liability issues, we just felt it was a bit too much for the volunteer members of the League Executive to take on.  The reality of it all is that even if we were given the go-ahead at the beginning of June, we wouldn’t start playing games right away which would mean that with the Canada Day holiday falling on a Wednesday, we would only have 5 or 6 games per team anyway.

Here's hoping that the Ladies and Men's Leagues will be able to their seasons in so there is opportunity at least for people to get on the field this year.

Thanks to all the team reps for your input.  We will see you all in 2021!

Stay safe & wash your hands.
